Smith, Nathan Allen
Description
The master builder Nathan Allen Smith may have been from Burlington, New Jersey, but he certainly signed the articles of the Friendship Carpenters' Company in 1775 and the Carpenters' Company of Philadelphia in 1786 when the two organizations of master carpenters united. He is said to have worked on Library Hall (1789, Fifth Street below Chestnut), and he was elected Warden of The Carpenters' Company, 1792-1794.
