Charles M. Shoemaker was a master builder working in Philadelphia around the middle of the 19th century. Likely the grandson of Thomas Shoemaker, an earlier master builder and President of the Carpenters' Company of Philadelphia, Charles Shoemaker was elected to the Carpenters' Company in 1851 at the young age of . In 1850, Shoemaker was listed in the City Directory at 334 North 7th street. In 1854, he was again listed as a carpenter at 334 North 7th street but also had his new home, 450 North 4th street, listed as well. Charles died in 1863 at the age of 50.
