*Sometimes listed as "Lawrence Rice." It is unclear which is the correct spelling.
*A Lawrence Rice is listed in the Biographical Dictionary of Phila. Architects. Page 658. Here is a paraphrasing of that listing: Lawrence Rice (Price?) was elected prior to the earliest surviving records of the Carpenter's Company. In 1763, Rice/Price purchased a lot of land near 2nd and Vine. He erected a house on that site that he sold in 1768. At that point, Rice/Price had relocated to Chester County, PA. By 1785, Rice/Price was living in Gunpowder Meeting, PA. He had been disowned from the Quaker meeting for getting remarried without permission.
*Lawerance is noted as having died, but I (Alex Palma) was unable to ascertain where he was buried.
