Hutchinson, James
Description
James Hutchinson was a master builder of Philadelphia elected to the Carpenters' Company of the same city in 1822. He served the Company dutifully, culminating in his placement as president in 1842-44. Additionally Hutchinson held every position within the Company's leadership and served multiple decades on both the Book Prices Committee and the Managing Committee. James Hutchinson was also a very active Freemason and served as Grandmaster of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania from 1854-55. He resided most of his adult life at 56-58 south 12th street in Philadelphia.
