Description

James Woods was a master builder of Philadelphia and was elected to the Carpenters' Company in 1834. He served as a Warden of the Company from 1850-1852 and on the Managing Committee from 1853-1855. According to the 1830 City Directory, he resided at 18 Ann Street. In addition to house carpentry, Woods also made wooden furniture.
