Ferdinand Cownover was a master builder of Philadelphia elected to the Carpenters' Company of Philadelphia in 1838. He resided on Parrish street below 10th street. Ferdinand Cownover died in 1865 and the following year his widow was added to the Company's Quarterly Allowance for widows.
